Hilary Morgan — refreshingly
different! Unwilling to settle for one style of music, Hilary’s
unique mixture of jazz, pop, Celtic, folk, and rhythm and blues
won her the 1999 Song of the Year in
the Alaska Public Radio contest with a Celtic accapella piece, “Come What May”. Hilary’s
CDs, “Follow Your Dreams” and “Friends Like You”, capture her spirit
of hopefulness and enthusiasm. She is an accomplished guitar player
with formal training in both voice and piano. She combines these with
a distinctive songwriting and composition style that is remarkable.
This seasoned performer
began her musical career singing on the streets of New York City. Determined
to find out if people wanted to hear her original tunes, she perfected
her performing and composing skills in the public eye before moving
indoors. Hilary continued on to captivate audiences around the world
-- from New York to New Mexico; Switzerland to Australia.
It was while working
in the Philippines in an Indochinese refugee
camp, that Hilary found her second passion; working with indigent populations.
Putting her musical career on hold, she moved easily from refugees
in the Philippines,
to mentally ill in Hawaii and homeless
street alcoholics in Alaska.
Unable to resist her
musical muse and love of performing, Hilary has returned to stage and
studio. Watch for her at local venues!
